About the assignment
We are looking for two experienced Java/Kotlin developers to join a cross-functional development team at a public sector agency. You will work across both backend, developing microservices and shared components, and frontend using React and TypeScript. The client is looking for self-driven developers who take ownership of their components and contribute to strong code quality within the team. You will report to a group leader, and the team leader will follow up on your deliverables.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain components in line with the agency's architecture, agile methods and established patterns

  • Implement user stories from the team's product backlog according to acceptance criteria

  • Address non-functional requirements, including logging, tracing, metrics and dashboards

  • Write automated tests and ensure adequate test coverage

  • Conduct code reviews and quality-assure new and existing code

  • Fix defects and improve established solution patterns where needed

  • Document the solutions you develop

  • Contribute to architecture discussions, solution design and work on user stories

  • Coordinate with others inside and outside the team, and flag when something deviates from the plan

  • Experience from agile systems development in larger organisations

  • Experience developing and consuming REST services, with JSON and XML

  • Experience with test automation (JUnit, Postman) and build and deploy (Git, Jenkins)

  • Practical experience with cloud (Azure), microservices, containers, PaaS and Kubernetes/OpenShift

Experience working with integrations in complex system landscapes with large volumes and high performance requirements is an advantage.
