We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer to join a growing R&D environment in Trondheim. You will play a key role in developing advanced software solutions for sensor-based technology used globally to visualize, interpret, and analyze complex data.

The position is primarily onsite in Trondheim and part of a highly competent, multidisciplinary development team. You will work closely with technical leadership in a product-focused R&D organization.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and further develop the development and testing toolchain, including CI/CD pipelines

  • Design and implement intuitive graphical user interfaces, including for touch-enabled devices

  • Contribute to the development of state-of-the-art products based on AI, real-time signal processing, and sensor fusion

  • Perform software- and system-level testing to ensure reliability, performance, and quality

  • Develop customer-facing APIs for integration into third-party solutions

  • Participate in agile, full-cycle software development


Qualifications

  • Relevant education in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Electronics, or a related field

  • Hands-on, practical problem solver with strong technical curiosity

  • Experience working with agile software development methodologies

  • Strong focus on software quality, structure, and maintainability

  • Programming experience in C++, C# and/or Java

  • Solid understanding of client-server architectures and network infrastructure

  • Experience with Python is an advantage, but not required

  • Experience with cross-platform development (Windows/Linux)

  • Experience with GUI development and frameworks such as Qt, Swing, or similar

  • Experience with automated testing tools and methodologies

  • Duration: 6-month consultant contract + possible extention

  • Location: Trondheim (primarily onsite; limited home office possible when needed)

  • Travel: Limited national and international travel may occur

  • Language: English is the working language. Decent understandig of Norwegian is required for effective collaboration
